Self-care is probably one of the more neglected aspects of life. Putting ourselves before our families, work, and friends seems counter-intuitive to most individuals.  We are designed to be compassionate, caring, and want to help others but if we don't take care of ourselves, we won't be able to help anyone else. There is also the misconception that self-care is bubble baths, messages, and relaxing. Those are parts of the much bigger picture.
